The Whitewalls: Bridgeport Ribhouse, Sun Nov 21

The Whitewalls brought their high energy performance to the Bridgeport Ribhouse on Sunday night. The Ribby was packed pretty good for an early Sunday night and nearly everyone was on the dance floor. The Whitewalls are a big band out of Media PA, and they filled the stage with 3 piece horns and a whole lot of party. Yes, they play weddings, and yes, they played a bunch of your standard celebration tunes – Uptown Funk, Ladies Night, Blurred Lines, with a side of Sugar Hill Gang… and of course, that wedding staple, Shout. But tonight they left their wedding manners behind and ripped through the set with hair-flying, sweat-dripping irreverence, showing that, yes, a top notch wedding band CAN also be a top notch bar band. When the Horny Boyz jumped up and took a stroll on the bar, you knew that this was no bar mitzvah. This is the kind of band you’d wanna have playing all night long on a Saturday night, instead of the early show on Sunday, and unfortunately it all came to an end too soon. I’ll be looking out for the next time these guys are coming back to the area.
